"The privilege of returning to
theological education after almost forty years of service from
local congregation to annual conference to episcopacy is
something to be cherished. I hope the interfacing of my
experience and the wisdom of students and faculty will prove
useful to all of us. In teaching leadership, I expect to draw
upon the innate qualities students bring with them and help to
expand their horizons of what it means to lead in the 21st
Century Church. As Bishop in Residence, I look forward to
informal conversations and exchanges with the MTSO community.
Those conversations may turn out to be the real locus of
learning."
