Mission of the MTSO Informational/Instructional Technology Department:
The MTSO IT department is fundamentally concerned with integrating the technological services of the school in order to foster a sense of community among students, staff, faculty, and the greater MTSO community beyond our campus. Therefore, the IT department is committed to providing professional and expedient attention to all concerns of students, staff, and faculty.
IT will:
1. Maintain and support all school installed Network Access Points from the network jack on the wall to the Internet. MTSO will maintain all school installed Wireless Access Points from the Wireless Access Point to the internet. Supported Wireless Access Points are currently installed in Gault Hall classrooms, Library, Centrum, Residence Hall Lounge, Residence Hall classroom and exercise room, Dining Hall, and the Coffee Shop. (MTSO does not support private wireless access points and routers in student living quarters.)
2. Provide support and education
on use of School E-mail account using Outlook Web Access (https://mail.mtso.edu).
Instructions for using the MTSO Email can be found at
http://www.mtso.edu/about/instructions.htm.
3. Provide support and education
on use of Windows SharePoint Services for the Academic Site (http://academics.mtso.edu)
and Community Site (http://community.mtso.edu).
Instructions for using the SharePoint Sites can be found at
http://www.mtso.edu/about/instructions.htm.
4. Provide support and education
on use of CampusVue Student Portal (https://portal.mtso.edu).
Instructions for using the Student Portal can be found at
http://www.mtso.edu/about/instructions.htm.
5. Support for students using
classroom presentation equipment will be provided. Contact
your instructor if you need presentation equipment for a class.
Immediate support is typically not available, so please keep this in
mind when preparing for a class presentation. 48 hour notice for
scheduling appointments is best, less time than this will not
guarantee assistance.
6. Provide support concerning
our school Website or any other features related to our school
gateways and web presence. We also highly value any comments or
suggestions concerning our public internet sites and services from
students, faculty, or anyone else interested in helping us to
improve our technological resources.
