New students can register without faculty advising, but if you would prefer talking with someone, please contact the registrar’s office. A faculty advisor can be arranged if necessary.
After you have chosen your courses, send your completed registration form to the registrar at MTSO. These can be sent by postal mail, fax, or as a signed and scanned e-mail attachment (e.g. in PDF format); otherwise please do not e-mail the registration form, as your signature is required on the form.
You should list alternate courses in the event that we are unable to meet your first request. Please mark them as “alternate”. If there are any problems or concerns about the schedule you submitted, someone will be contacting you. You will receive confirmation of your schedule by e-mail from me. In future terms, you will meet with your faculty advisor prior to registration.
Set aside the date of Monday, February 1, 2010 -- you must plan to attend Orientation on campus on that day. At Orientation you will be able to review your course schedule with a faculty advisor, and discuss your plans for the rest of the school year. If you need to revise your schedule, you will be able to drop or add courses at that time. You will also receive valuable information about life as a student at MTSO, have an opportunity to talk with professors about class expectations, and learn “where to go for what” on campus. You will receive more details about Orientation soon.
Finally, the link to this page has been sent to the e-mail address that we have on file for you. Once you begin classes, you will have a new e-mail address in the format “firstinitial+lastname@mtso.edu.” You will need to transfer to this account for all of your school-related e-mail communications. If you wish to configure this new account to forward messages to another account you are already using, you may do so, but you will need to set up that process on your own. E-mail is an official channel for school communications, and we require it as we use it extensively at MTSO, so please remember to check your new e-mail account once you are enrolled.
Please contact the registrar, Sue Lamphere, by phone (740-362-3344) or by e-mail (registrar@mtso.edu) if you have any questions. There are many people available to answer questions as you make this transition to seminary. We are looking forward to having you on campus!
