If you are currently a student, faculty or staff member at MTSO, you may use the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service provided by Dickhaut Library to make special requests for materials.

What May Be Requested
  • Books and other items not owned by Dickhaut Library and not available through the OPAL and OhioLINK Library catalogs.
Exception: Dickhaut Library will not request course textbooks for students.

Time it Takes for Materials to Arrive

Interlibrary Loan requests may take at least ten working days to arrive at Dickhaut Library. You will be notified by e-mail when the Library has received the book.

Costs

Dickhaut Library tries to find libraries that lend their materials free of charge. However, in some rare cases, a lending library may charge a fee to loan an item from its collection. For example, some academic libraries will charge a fee to loan a dissertation or thesis held in their collections. Dickhaut Library users wishing to obtain materials through interlibrary loan will be notified of such fees in advance so they can decide to follow through on the request or not.

Before Making an ILL Request

If you are looking for a book, did you check in the OPAL or OhioLINK Library catalogs to determine whether it is available? If it is, you may request the item directly through the OPAL or OhioLINK catalogs on your own.
