Denominations ordain and commission alumni of MTSO

Abby Caseman, a 2011 MTSO graduate, is ordained as a deacon in the Kansas West Conference

Methodist Theological School in Ohio recognizes and congratulates its alumni and current students who were ordained and commissioned this year. The list begins with conferences of the United Methodist Church, followed by other denominations.

Detroit

The following were ordained as elders:

• Richard Burstall, serving Grace United Methodist Church in Britton.

• Leonard Clevenger, serving St. Paul United Methodist Church in Bloomfield Hills.

• Daniel Gonder, serving Tawas UMC in Tawas.

• Douglas Ralston, serving Good Shepherd UMC in St. Clair Shores.

East Ohio

The following were ordained as elders:

• William Brewer, serving Mt. Pleasant UMC.

• Pam Buzalka, serving Boardman UMC.

• Micah Holland, serving Middlefield UMC.

The following were commissioned as elders:

• Andrew Call, serving Oberlin First UMC.

• Robin Dillon, serving Bethel and Oak Chapel United Methodist Churches.

• Mary Owen, serving Winona UMC.

Indiana

Matthew Landry, serving Winamac First UMC, was ordained as an elder.

Melissa Zimmerman, serving Elkhart Faith UMC, was commissioned as an elder.

Jennifer Huff, serving Kentland Trinity UMC, was commissioned as a deacon.

Iowa

William Ranney was commissioned as a provisional deacon.

Kansas West

Abby Caseman, serving First UMC in Wichita, was ordained as a deacon.

West Michigan

Janice Lancaster, serving Holland First UMC, was ordained as a deacon.

The following were ordained as elders:

• Bryce Feighner, serving Gresham and Kalamo United Methodist Churches.

• Ellen Zienert, serving St. Johns First UMC.

West Ohio

The following were ordained as elders:

• Katherine Currier, serving Fayette UMC.

• Anna Guillozet, serving King Avenue UMC in Columbus.

• Joseph Ziraldo, serving Marion Crosswood UMC.

Karen Brantley, serving as director of Hispanic/ Latino Ministries for the West Ohio Conference, was commissioned as a provisional deacon.

The following were commissioned as provisional elders:

• Charles Baugher, serving Calvery UMC.

• Nicole Henderson-Johns, serving Norwood Grace UMC.

• Meghan Howard, serving Fairborn UMC.

• Carol Williams-Young, serving Woodville UMC.

West Virginia

Karen Tate, serving St. Paul’s UMC in Grantsville, Md., was commissioned as an elder.

Jeff Taylor was commissioned as a deacon.

Western Pennsylvania

Ross Pryor, serving Jefferson Avenue and West Washington United Methodist Churches in Washington, was ordained as an elder.

Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

Aaron Phillips, who serves First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Zanesville, was ordained by the Christian Church in Ohio.

United Church of Christ

Sue Tamilio was ordained at Lakewood United Church of Christ by the Western Reserve Association, Ohio Conference, UCC.
