We will celebrate the graduation of the class of 2021 with a virtual ceremony on May 22.
Congratulations to the class of 2021. While COVID-19 precautions will prevent us from honoring our graduates in person on campus, we will hold a virtual commencement online at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22. Degrees will be conferred and all graduates will have the opportunity to be recognized individually during this ceremony.
Commencement will be a YouTube Premiere event, beginning promptly at 11 a.m. Those who arrive a few minutes late will join the ceremony in progress rather than at the beginning. Also, a chat box will be live before and during the ceremony. Once the original event has concluded, video will be archived for viewing at any time. YouTube will provide a link to the event a day or two before the ceremony, and we will share it on this page, via email and on MTSO social media.
Information for graduates
Closing Convocation and Senior Awards - 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 11
This convocation is a highlight of the academic year. We will hold convocation online in real time. A link will be provided the week of the event.
Baccalaureate - 7 p.m. Friday, May 21
The baccalaureate preacher, chosen by the faculty, is Chaska Yoder. Register here for a Zoom link.
Your part in the virtual commencement
Our ceremony will feature photos and videos of individual graduates. Later this semester, we will provide instructions for recording and submitting videos in your commencement regalia (cap, gown and hood) via your MTSO email address.
Academic regalia ordering and deadline
In this unusual year, MTSO is providing commencement regalia - caps, gowns and hoods - free of charge to all graduating seniors. Your regalia will be delivered to your home address.
The deadline for ordering your free regalia is Friday, March 5.
An order form for regalia has been created here. We use environmentally friendly "GreenWeaver" gowns. If you wish to order clergy robes of a higher quality for your use later, you can find the links on the website of our regalia supplier, Oak Hall Cap & Gown. If you plan to use a black clergy robe, you do not have to order a gown for graduation but will still need to order your hood and cap. If you have questions about regalia, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Formal graduation announcements
We will mail each senior five formal, embossed commencement announcements with envelopes, at no charge.
Graduating senior checklist
Please review this checklist so that you do not miss any important steps as you prepare for graduation.
If you have any questions about commencement and related events, feel free to contact Danny Russell at 740-362-3322 or email@example.com. We wish you all the best in the coming weeks and look forward to celebrating with you in May.
