Free Flu Immunizations

MTSO provides free flu shots to students, faculty and staff, as well as their immediate family members.

MTSO is offering free flu immunizations to all students, staff, faculty, adjunct faculty and their immediate family members next Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. These shots are offered to all MTSO community members at no charge.

Immunizations will be administered in the semi-circular driveway in front of the library. No appointment is necessary; just arrive between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. You may come by car or as a pedestrian and will be guided through the process in a safe, physically distanced manner. Please note that immediately after your shot, you will need to stay and be monitored for 15 minutes before leaving.

Before you come, it is important that you complete and bring with you a printed copy of the Flu Immunization Consent Form for yourself and each family member who is getting immunized. You also are urged to read the Flu Vaccine Info Sheet.

Particularly as the world navigates a pandemic, healthcare professionals are strongly advocating flu shots. This is a message from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Protect yourself from flu this fall and winter with a flu vaccine. While getting a flu vaccine will not protect against COVID-19, it can protect you from becoming sick with flu. Flu is another potentially serious respiratory illness that can cause missed work, hospitalization, and, in some cases, even death.

More information from the CDC about flu prevention is here.

Thank you for considering this important preventative measure on behalf of yourself, your family and your community.
