June 3-8

Summer Exploration in Food Sovereignty, Climate Change, and Vocation

An MTSO retreat for young adults

Are you between the ages of 18 and 25 and considering a future in food security and sustainable food production? If so, Methodist Theological School of Ohio invites you to our Summer Exploration in Food Sovereignty, Climate Change and Vocation retreat, to be held on our campus in greater Columbus June 3-8.

Accepted participants will have the opportunity to listen to food and climate experts and activists and to visit a cross-section of farms. The retreat will challenge and inspire you to reflect on what a purposeful life in food security and sovereignty may be. You will be supported by a team of passionate individuals, excited to see you go on this journey to find your calling in this area.

A generous grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. allows us to provide this experience with all expenses paid for the week. We are also able to provide generous travel support. In addition, a stipend of $600 will be provided for full participation in the program. At the end of the retreat, an additional $600 will be provided to support work or efforts in responding to food insecurity, food sovereignty, climate change, or another area that would increase community resilience.

Apply to be considered for the retreat here. We will contact you regarding next steps.
