The basics
MTSO’s Center for Integrative Pastoral Practice extends opportunities for ecumenical and interreligious chaplaincy education by offering hybrid, community-based Clinical Pastoral Education. Classes are taught synchronously online in real time.
CIPP is fully accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, 1 Concourse Parkway, Suite 800, Atlanta, Georgia 30329, 404-320-1472. ACPE ensures the highest standard for spiritual care and education. CIPP offers Level I and Level II CPE programs by ACPE-certified educators.

- Current and future chaplains
- Seminary students
- Pastoral counselors
- Spiritual-care providers in traditional and non-traditional settings
- Religious organizations
- Health-care providers and facilities.
The CIPP@MTSO advantage
- You may complete CPE certification requirements in your ministry context, without the need to serve in CPE centers’ clinical units or to cover overnight on-calls.
- Your current ministry settings can be used for your “clinical assignments” so that you don’t have to add extra 300 hours of ministry.
- You will receive valuable training and ministerial formation.
- Group and individual instruction is conducted online, making it accessible for those residing far from traditional CPE centers.
- All faculty members are ACPE certified.
- This program fulfills the CPE unit required for certification as a chaplain or as required by your ordination or credentialing process.
