Campus Resident COVID-19 Protocol

In the years following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, MTSO responded by focusing in unprecedented ways on individual health decisions and their impact on this campus community. This included requiring proof of COVID vaccination for all who wished to be part of campus life, including students, employees and campus residents.

MTSO’s COVID vaccination requirement remained in effect through May 2023. As Spring Semester 2023 ended, concurrent with the lifting of the federal COVID emergency declaration, the school’s COVID vaccination requirement was indefinitely suspended.

What remains is MTSO’ strong recommendation that everyone stay up to date with COVID vaccinations and boosters, as well as annual flu vaccinations. By embracing these preventative measures, each of us affirms our responsibility as citizens of this community to avoid spreading infectious illnesses.

As it has from the start of the pandemic, MTSO will continue to adapt to changing realities. Future public health threats could lead to the reinstatement of COVID-19 protocols, including vaccination requirements.
