Internet and phone service restored after lightning strike

MTSO's website, email and phone service were interrupted when lightning struck an American Electric Power transformer Friday night, June 10. The entire campus was without electrical service for four days.

AEP representatives said parts had to be shipped in from out of state to repair the damaged transformer, located near the entrance to the MTSO campus. Internet and phone service were fully restored Tuesday afternoon, June 14, immediately after AEP repaired the transformer.
