Choose your pathway
MTSO and West Virginia Wesleyan College offer accelerated programs
Start at WVWC. Finish at MTSO. Complete a master's degree in less time.
West Virginia Wesleyan College and Methodist Theological School in Ohio now offer students accelerated pathways to earn graduate degrees in ministry, public theology and social justice.
Three innovative programs
These pathways are designed for students interested in ministry, faith-based leadership, community engagement, advocacy and social justice. With this approach, you begin with three years of study at West Virginia Wesleyan College, followed by two or three years at MTSO.
You have three paths to choose from:
- A 3+3 pathway leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science from WVWC and a Master of Divinity from MTSO.
- A 3+2 pathway leading to a bachelor's degree from WVWC and a Master of Arts in Public Theology.
- A 3+2 pathway leading to a bachelor's degree from WVWC and a Master of Arts in Social Justice.
Beginning graduate studies before completing your undergraduate degree requirements allows you to earn both degrees in less time and at a reduced cost. While the typical path to a master's degree requires seven years of study, these programs take just 5-6 years.
Students in the programs will complete 96 credit hours at WVWC before transitioning to MTSO, with graduate coursework transferring back to fulfill remaining undergraduate degree requirements.
