Denominations to ordain and commission alumni of MTSO

Methodist Theological School in Ohio recognizes and congratulates its alumni and students who are being ordained and commissioned this year. The list below begins with conferences of the United Methodist Church, followed by other denominations.

Detroit

Bradley S. Luck is being commissioned as elder, serving Hudson First United Methodist Church in Hudson, Mich.

East Ohio

Matthew Merriman is being commissioned as elder, serving Columbia UMC in Columbia Station, Ohio.

The following are being ordained as deacons:

  • Seth Auman, serving at the Greenleaf Family Center in Akron, Ohio, and Greensburg UMC in Green, Ohio.
  • Terrie Baker, serving as Mission Outreach Consultant in the Three Rivers District of Ohio.

The following are being ordained as elders:

  • Janet Fillmore, serving at Mayfield UMC in Chesterland, Ohio.
  • David Hull-Frye, serving Grace UMC in Vermilion, Ohio.
  • Brandon Keck, serving as Associate Pastor at Medina UMC in Medina, Ohio.
  • Ronald Schultz, serving as Pastor at Family of Faith UMC in Akron, Ohio.

Florida

Nathan Adams was ordained as elder. He begins serving at Fulford UMC in North Miami Beach, Fla., July 1.

Great Plains

Emily Cannon is being commissioned as elder, serving as Associate Pastor at Saint Paul UMC in Lincoln, Neb.

Holston

Shannon Berry is being ordained as elder, serving Bland UMC, Central UMC and Trinity UMC in Bland, Va.

Illinois Great Rivers

Kristi (Berkebile) Hopp is being ordained as elder, serving as a chaplain in the Air National Guard and serving Laura and Monica UMCs.

Indiana

Adriana Curtis was commissioned as an elder, serving as Pastor of Royal Center United Methodist Church in Royal Center, Ind.

New Jersey

Christina Yost is being commissioned as elder, serving Haddonfield UMC in Haddonfield, N.J.

Susquehanna

The following are being ordained as elders:

  • Jennifer Kauffman, serving Great Bend Community Church in Scranton, Pa.
  • Kristen Wall-Love, serving Hope UMC in Port Trevorton, Pa.

West Michigan

Chad Parmalee is being commissioned as elder, serving Chapel Hill UMC in Battle Creek, Mich.

The following are being ordained as elders:

  • Cathy Christman, serving Vassar First UMC in Vassar, Mich.
  • Jonathan Van Dop, serving Ionia UMC in Ionia, Mich.
  • Rebecca Wieringa, serving Hart UMC in Hart, Mich.

West Ohio

The following will be commissioned as deacons:

  • Meredith McDougle, serving as Children's Ministry Director at Powell UMC in Powell, Ohio.
  • Mark Reed, serving as Director of Children's Ministries at Summit on 16th UMC in Columbus, Ohio.

The following are being commissioned as elders:

  • Claudine Leary, serving at MTSO as Coordinator for Development in Delaware, Ohio.
  • Brandi (Grant) Rigsby, serving as Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries at First UMC in Newark, Ohio.
  • Joseph Barker, serving at Peace Church in Pickerington, Ohio.

The following will be ordained as elders:

  • Christopher Henderson-Johns, serving at Anderson Hills UMC in Cincinnati, Ohio.
  • John Wooden, serving Stone Village Church in Columbus, Ohio.

West Virginia

The following are being ordained as elders:

  • Kelly Martin, serving at Pennsboro UMC in Pennsboro, W.Va.
  • Jacob Steele, serving at Wayne UMC in Wayne, W.Va.

Dina Andrews is being ordained as deacon, serving at St. Paul's UMC in Parkersburg, W.Va.

Western Pennsylvania

Brittany Wooten is being commissioned as an elder, serving Centerburg UMC in Centerburg, Ohio.

Nancy Shute is being ordained as an elder, serving Croton Ave. UMC and Wesley UMC in New Castle, Pa.

Methodist Church in Britain

Debbie Caulk is being commissioned as a presbyter. She will be a student probationer in Norwich, England, and is working toward a doctoral degree at the Queen's Foundation for Ecumenical Theological Education.

United Church of Christ

Deborah L. Jeanblanc will be a licensed pastor, serving Belpre Congregational Church in Belpre, Ohio.

Zoe Milliman will be approved for ordination pending a call by the UCC New York Western Association.
