Earthkeeping Summit is co-sponsored by MTSO

Melanie L. Harris will deliver the keynote message.

MTSO has partnered with Ohio Interfaith Power and Light and the Ohio State University School of Environment and Natural Resources to co-sponsor the 2016 Earthkeeping Summit. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 24 in the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center, 2201 Fred Taylor Drive on the Ohio State campus.

Persons of faith, change makers, and justice seekers are invited to gather for Earthkeeping Summit. Participants will discover how they can work together for climate and social justice. Melanie L. Harris, associate professor of religion at Texas Christian University, will deliver the keynote message: “There is a Balm … Eco Justice, Hope, and Renewal.”

Summit workshops and panel presentations will cover topics including climate change; food security; art as ritual and resistance; and working as allies with communities of color. MTSO will be among those with a display.

The registration fee is $40, with a student rate of $20. The registration deadline is Sept. 19. Online registration and additional information are available here.
